DARAH TINGGI KERANA KURANG MINERAL



Encik Hisham sudah dua tahun disahkan menghidap kencing manis.  Dia makan ubat setiap hari dan menjalani pemeriksaan doktor setiap bulan.. Sebagai seorang yang amat mengambil berat tentang penjagaan kesihatan dia menjaga pemakanan dan bersenam.  Tambahan pula sebagai seorang bekas juruterbang, dia mempunyai ramai sahabat di kalangan doktor dan pakar perubatan.

Salur Darah Mengeras

Ada pelbagai faktor seseorang mendapat darah tinggi namum kadang kala terdapat juga di antara kita yang mendapat darah tinggi tanpa sebab musabab yang konkrit.  Apabila darah tinggi terjadi secara tiba-tiba ia dinamakan Essential atau Idipathic.

Beberapa pertanyaan yang dahulunya menjadi tanda tanya kepada kita selama ini wajar dijawab begini.  Apabila seseorang itu menjadi tua, salur darahnya mengers dan kurang elastik.  Kalsium akan hinggap pada tisu badan termasuklah salur darah menjadikan salah satu sebab penyempitan salur darah.

Kekurangan hormon dalam tubuh menjadikan metabolisme bagi kolesterol dan lemak kurang baik, lemak juga mula didepositkan ke salur darah dan deposit lemak ini lama kelamaan membuatkan salur darah menyempit.

Perlu Lebih Magnesium

Bagi pesakit kencing manis pula, mereka memerlukan lebih banyak magnesuim kerana magnesium merupakan satu unsur surih yang bekerja bersama-sama dengan insulin.  Kehadiran magnesium membolehkan sel-sel menjadi lebih sensitif terhadap insulin.  Magnesium juga diperlukan bagi membolehkan glukosa msuk ke dalam sel untuk diuraikan kepada tenaga.  Bagi pesakit kencing manis, tubuh mereka tidak mampu bagi mengangkut masuk glukosa ke dalam sel tubuh.  Akibatnya glukosa tertinggal di dalam darah.  Ini menjadikan tubuh lesu kerana gula tidak dapat ditukar kepada tenaga maka kehadiran magnesium adalah amat penting sekali.

ALKALINE WATER

Kebaikan Air Beralkali

Interpreting Laughter


IT is a complex task for the human brain to spot the difference between a person laughing with you or or taunting you.  But research carried out by scientists now shows how the brain precisely processes the different types of laughter signals.

In an article published in the Us journal, Plos One, the researchers from the German city of Tuebingen report that positive non-verbal communication, such as joyful laughter, releases different reactions compared to negative signals like a taunt.

Scientist and doctor of psychiatry Dirk Wildgruber from the University of Tuebingen said:  "Laughter is a very strong signal when it comes to social interaction".

"A person feels accepted when he is smiled at.  However, a person feels excluded from the group when on the receiving end of a taunt."

As part of their research, Wildgruber and his team exposed their test subjects to different laughter sounds and measure how these were processed in the brain.

The scientists found that when we hear a person being tickled, the neural connections in our brains are mainly just doing acoustic analysis of quite a complicated noise.

By contract, when processing taunting and friendly laughter types, we activate brain areas associated with mentalising and forming visual associations.

Visual imagery may support the formation of inferences on the intentions of our social counterparts.

"This is extremely relevant for our patients in psychiatry."
says Wildgruber.

In many psychological illnesses such as pathological anxiety, depression or schizophrenia, the ability to recognise non-verbal signals is often stunted.

The scientists hope their findings will lead to improved treatment for patients suffering from these - dpa.

Alkalinity For Better Health

OPTIMAL health depends on our body's ability to maintain a slightly-alkaline condition in our cells and tissues.




When our cells and tissues are overly acidic, we tire easily and this may lead to chronic fatigue, body aches and pain.  High acidity also decreases our resistance to infections.




Important physiological functions such as immunity, digestion, and cardiovascular, as well as metabolic processes and enzyme reactions require an alkaline internal environment.



Alkalinity is measured by pH (hydrogen potential) reading with 7.0 for neutral, above 7.0 for alkaline and lower than 7.0 for acidic (low in oxygen).



Sources of highly-acidic foods include oysters, crab, lobster, veal, sardines, salmon, herring (smoked fish), chicken, most fish, oily food, dairy produce, egg yolk, and grain-based products.



Soft drinks, packaged fruit juices, sweetened beverages, and artificial sweeteners (except Stevia) are highly acidic too.



Oatmeal is probably the most acidic among the grain family, whereas millet may be the only grain sold locally that's alkaline.




Whole unpolished rice with its bran may be alkaline.  But white (refined) rice, Beehoon, biscuits, cookies, bread, breakfast cereals, pastries, cakes, and all noodles are acidic.




Locally-produced 'wholemeal' bread containing just some added bran may not be sufficient to make the whole bread flour alkaline.




Spaghetti is more acidic than rice, which is more acidic than fresh corn.




However, the long-term health benefits of eating genetically-modified corn or rice are unknown.




Beans, seeds, vegetables, and most nuts (including coconut) are generally alkaline since they're rich in minerals.




Sweet fruits that are high in fructose are acidic.  the exceptions include lemon, pineapple, fig, pomegranate, apricot, raisin, dates, cherries, currants and nectarines.




It's important to note that white fructose doesn't have a major impact on the glycermic index, its health claims are highly contested.




When our body becomes overly acidic, in order to retain a slightly alkaline blood of say pH 7.4, it will leach calcium and other minerals from our bones, resulting in osteoporosis.




Topping up just on calcium is unlikely to help since our bones are made from more than a dozen minerals.  Excess calcium causes mineral inbalance which also promotes osteoporosis.




Maintaining a proper pH is so crucial to survival that when blood pH drops to 6.9, coma may result.  It's widely accepted that if blood pH drops to 6.8 or lower, death is likely to follow.




Our body pH is linked directly to our dietary and lifestyle habits.




Tap water has a neutral pH RO (Reverse Osmosis) water has a lower pH.  You can also use a home unit to produce ionised alkaline water.












And water filters aren't the same as alkaline water machines, which have both filtering and oxygen-separation features combined in one unit.




To test the water or beverage for alkalinity, use a pH test kit which is available from major pharmacies.




Meat, poultry, fish, rice, noodles, desserts, and soft drinks are acidic.  So, to sustain life in the long-term, the consumption of vegetables, beans, nuts, seeds, and alkaline fruits/berries is necessary to ensure out blood pH is kept at around 7.4.




Our lymph and cerebral spinal fluids are also designed to be slightly alkaline at a pH of around 7.4. 




Our body will do its best to help us secure this fluid pH.  Minerals from our bone structure are usually sacrificed for this purpose.




Arterial plaques in our heart stones in our kidneys, and gangrene (classified arteries in legs) - if you're suffering from late-stage diabetes - may be linked to excess calcium in our blood due to acidosis.




Consequently, complementary medical therapies target reversal of acidoses for treatment of arteriosclerosis (hardening of arteries), diabetes, hypertension, and most types of cancer.




Deep-fried foods are acidic since fats including trans fats are highly acidic by nature containing no oxygen molecular.




Since the 1920s, it has been observed that a low body pH can contribute to tumour/cancer growth. 



It's known in complementary oncology that cancer cells are unlikely to survive in a pH environment of 8.0 or higher.




This explains why five daily servings of green vegetables (but not sweet fruits) may significantly lower the risk of most types of cancer.




Indeed, the Gerson's Cancer Therapy relies entirely on consuming several kilogrammes of raw organic vegetables juices every day.




Acidic wastes stored in tissues, joints, organs, and glands can damage or cause their dysfunction.




Although vitamin C is itself acidic, its consumption can lead to detoxification of acidic wastes and our body can turn more alkaline as a consequence.




Besides lemon, food rich in vitamin C include green chilli, bell pepper, guava, green kiwi, and berries.  



Ideally, these foods should be eaten fresh and raw.




Proteins from animal, livestock or seafood sources are acidic. 



 However, plant based protein from soy isolate, bean sprouts, tofu, fucuk, nuts, and seeds tend to be alkaline due to their high mineral content.




Although salt is alkaline, excess of it can severely damage the kidneys.




For those with kidney disease, the acidic foods to avoid include animal meat, organ meat, seafood, toasted breakfast cereals, sweet fruits (which promote accumulation of uric acid), and noodles. 




 Moderate amount of plant-based protein diet under the supervision of a licensed nutritional therapist is advised.





Besides consuming more alkaline meals, exercises can help push the pH level in our bodies since  acidic  wastes can be removed partly through the skin in the sweat.




A lifestyle that incorporates regular walking, jogging, aerobic exercises, and treadmill can help with the alkaline level in our body.

EPAL HIJAU



Menurut kajian, epal hijau dapat membantu tubuh wanita memperlahankan kadar estrogen pada saat menopouse.  Gangguan penyakit saat menopouse seperti ancaman penyakit jantung atau kerapuhan tulang kerana rembesan hormon estrogen yang berkurangan boleh dicegah dengan zat yang terdapat didalam buah epal terutama epal hijau.

Darah Yang Berasid








 DIET yang tidak sihat akan menjadikan darah berasid.  Asid yang berlebihan ini akan memendap di bahagian organ seperti jantung, pankrias, hepar, usus dan juga di bahagian lain.  Keadaan ini akan menganggu aktiviti and fungsi sel.  Ini akan menjadi asas ke arah pembentukan penyakit.

Apakah tanda-tanda pH darah kita berasid.
- Darah kita berada di dalam pH yang berasid jika kita mengalami perkara berikut:

1.  mengalami masalah rambut berminyak, beruban dan tidak bermaya.
2.  Mengalami masalah penghadaman seperti sembelit, gastrik dan sebagainya.
3.  mengalami masalah badan, nafas dan mulut berbau.
3.  sering rasa mengantuk.
4.  mempunyai masalah kulit.
5.  sering cepat berasa lapar.
6.  berkahak atau berlendir terutama di waktu pagi.


Berikut adalah beberapa kaedah yang dapat membantu kita untuk mengeluarkan asid daripada badan kita;

1. Elakkan pengunaan produk tenusu dan gantikan dengan susu soya.

2.  Elakkan daging mereah dan kurangkan  size hidangan ikan dan ayam.

3.  Elakkan mengambil makanan yang diproses seperti hotdog dan nugget.

4.   Banyakkan memakan sayur-sayuran terutama sayur-sayuran hijau dan buah-buahan.

5.  Tambah minyak zaitun (extra virgin), flaxsees, EPO, GLA complex dan omega di dalam diet harian anda.

6.  Makan salad dalam sajian besar bagi setiap hidangan.


Tahukah kita apakah kesan dan penyakit apabila darah kita berasid.  Badan kita akan memulakan mekanisma pertahanan untuk mengelakkan asid daripada memasuki organ.  Ini akan menyebabkan:

1.  Pertambahan berat badan akibat daripada penghasilan sel lemak bagi tujuan penyimpanan bahan berasid.

2.  Sakit sendi dan arthritis disebabkan oleh penimbunan asid di bahagian sendi-sendi tulang.

7.  Allegies dan jerawat.

8.  Mudah mendapat demam, bronchitis, infeksi dan juga sakit kepala.


Patutkah kita memberi komitmen kepada kesihtan kita dan diet yang seimbang?

Disebabkan perubahan masa dan kesibukkan dan gaya hidup kita, kebanyakkan daripada kita hampir terlupa untuk memberi perhatian kepada kesihatan.

Sebagai contoh, rata-rata kita mengambil roti/roti canai, nasi lemak, nescafe atau teh tarik sebagai sarapan pagi.  Makanan yang mengandungi kandungan yang tinggi karbohidrat akan menyebabkan darah bertambah berasid.  Oleh yang demikian, untuk diet beralkali dpat membantu mengembalikan keseimbangan pH darah dan menjadikan tubuh kita bertambah sihat.

Apakah diet beralkali:-

1. Makan sayuran hijau terutama alfafa wheatgrass, timun, tomato.  Pengambilan secara mentah atau jus adalah lebih digalakkan.

2.  Makan buah-buahan seperti limau yang mengandungi kandungan karbohhidrat yang rendah tetapi kandungan serat yang tinggi.

3.  Makan bijirin seperti biji bunga matahari, kacang soya, beras perang.

Makanan Berasid VS Makanan Beralkali








Betapa pentingnya mengamalkan diet beralkali dibandingkan dengan diet yang berasid.  Ini adalah kerana badan yg tinggi asidnya mengalakkan kita mudah sakit dan cepat letih. 



 Sebaliknya makanan yang beralkali membantu menyihatkan badan kita.




Skala pH adalah di antara 0 sehingga 14.  Nilai pH kurang dari 7 adalah asid (kurang oksigen) dan skala lebih dari 7 adalah alkali.  Bila skala pH mencapai 8.5, sel-sel kanser akan mati dan sel-sel sihat akan hidup.



Oleh itu marilah kita kenali makanan beralkali dan makanan berasid.



Makanan beralkali


Sayur-sayuran : asparagus, brokoli, bayam mentah, timun, taugeh, bawang putih, limau, lemon, mangga, betik, stevia, kacang hijau, kacang soya, salad, kubis, tembikai, kurma dan buah tin, keledek, teh hijau, wheatgrass, epal, anggor, kismis, kiwi, karot, nenas, buah pir, oren, pisang, tomato, avocado, madu liar,  kulit kentang, buah berangan, susu soya, susu ibu, susu kambing, keju dan teh halia.



Perlu diingatkan walaupun lemon dan limau dalam bentuk asalnya bersifat asid, namun setelah mengalami proses penghadaman di dalam badan ianya bersifat alkali



Makanan Berasid

FACIAL WORKOUT THAT LIFTS WITHOUT TUCKS

Every woman over 60 with a firm jawline, full cheeks and bagfree eyes either has a clever way of concealing surgery scars or has lived in a time capsule all her life.

Such tout youthfulness does not come with face creams, diet or strange cell injections.

However, facial exercise guru Eva Fraser - who is to cheek muscles what Jane Fonda is to abdominal tucks - has a face that defies both gravity and her 63 years.

"I don't believe in eternal youth, however we can do an enormous amount towards staying younger," she said.

"The effects of working out are well known, so the face can benefit from it too.  I began when i was 50.  I was desperate - everything had dropped and my face had gone flat from the eyes down. The muscles had lost their elasticity."

Now, 13 years on, Eva has the facial firmness that most women of 45 dream of.

"There's no secret miracle, just keep fit for the face.  Creams only improve texture, not tone or muscle strength.

"We think that talking, eating and expressing exercises the face- it doesn't because we use the same muscles again and again while the rest  become slack.

"If body muscles were neglected like that, most of us would barely walk."

The technique is not new.  It was taught to Eva by Eva Hoffman, who perfected the 14 exercises working with a doctor in the 1930s.

The theory is simple: as with the body, the facial muscles can be tightened internally to improve the external contours and, as certain muscle work will build bulk, the same can be done on the face to fill out lines.  This can help fill out that sunken-in, hollow-cheeked look - the first sign of aging.

"The face muscles, unlike those in the body, are attached directly to the skin, so when the muscles sag so does the skin over them,' Eva said. "This is what gives the jowly jawline, hooded eyes and sagging neck and cheeks."

It sound simple, but, as with any workout, it takes time, concentration and more than the occasional muscle ache; the initial problem is actually finding and then working those elusive droops.  Working the cheek means isolating and then individually moving four main muscles through intricate twitches and staggered lifts from the side of the mouth.

The eyes are even harder, although hooded eyelids can be lifted quite quickly.  However, working the neck - by clenching the lower teeth over the upper lip, thrusting the chin forward and smiling - takes longer to achieve good results.

Surprising this workout leaves a glow as forgotten muscles exercise for the first time in years.  Even while exercising, a dull ache starts, but unlike Fonda, the Fraser workout does not go for the burn.

Although Eva gives a course of one-to-one classes, the technique can be learned through her book or video, but this is not a quick five minutes before bedtime.

An enthusiastic burst lasting two weeks will barely reverse the effects of a late night, let alone the last 10 years.  It is usually takes months of concentrated daily workouts to achieve visible, lasting effects.

You have to sit in front of a mirror and think about where you are working.  Initially it takes about 15 minutes a day.  Once the muscles are tight and back to their original, youthful position, maintenance takes about 10 minutes, two or three times a week.

"And it's never too late to start.  Ideally we should begin at 20 as a preventive measure, but at any age you'll see an improvement." Eva  said.

She hates to talk about wiping away the years along with the eyebags and the results can't be compared to a facelift, but to many women it may be a cheaper and trauma-free alternative.

The face is tighter, fuller and more youthful, but small lines will still be there.  Regular exercise also affects skin tone and colour as the increased blood and lymph flow bring nutrients to the cells while eliminating toxins.  It can take away 10 years (only after a good six months of dedicated exercising) but it gives a natural youthfulness, not the Nancy Reagan drawstring look.

"Surgery just works on the skin.  All the muscles are still sagging underneath, so after five years the wight of the skin pulls it down again."  Eva claimed.  "Doing this just makes aging a lot less depressing."

The routine consists of 14 exercises and three different levels.  Four are illustrated below for you to try; all must be repeated three times in front of a mirror  -  IPS

Upper Eyelids:
Curve index fingers under brows while holding side of head with thumbs.  Pushed brows up, hold firmly against bone, try to close lids slowly, feeling downward pull from brow to lashes, squeeze lids tightly together and hold for five, releases slowly, open eyes.

Forehead:
Elbows on table, place fingertips above brows and slide up to hairline, pushing up, holding skin against bone.  Look straight ahead, try to bring brow down in five movements against resistance, gradually closing eyes.  Hold downward, pull for three, then release.

Jawline and Necks:
Tilt head up and jut chin forward.  Slide upper lip behind lower teeth and gently grip in place.   With stretched feeling in front of neck, slowly smile up and out in direction of arrow in five slow movements, fold for five.  Return in five movements and relax.

Checks:
Keeping your back teeth together but relaxed, and your lips slightly apart, smile upwards and outwards to the temples, making the maximum effort in one slow movement.  Hold for five seconds and slowly returns.
            

SHOW YOUR LOVE WITH HUGS, KISSES








































IT MIGHT seems un-Asian, but try hugging and kissing the members of your family more - you might discover that it adds meaning to your relationship and makes it a happier one, too.





At a seminar entitled Forming a Happy Family Institution Organised by the Public Enterprises Ministry's Puspanita last month, DR Hassan Hj Mohamed Ali gently mocked the archetypal Malaysian parent with illustrations of how traditional ideas on parenting imbibed from his or her parents forbade the showing of affection through physical contact.





But kissing and hugging were important in communicating a wife's love to her husband, a husband's love to his wife, parents' love to their children, and children's love for their parents, he said.




Dr Hassan, the executive director of the Sabha-Famdev Group, said love was what was missing from too many relationship in some families.




Even if it was not, he said, showing one's love through speech and through physical contat was integrat to strengthening family ties.




The audience of mainly women was amused and touched by his graphic description, but there was also unease as to whether such open forms of affection were against Islam and Malay culture.




Dr Hassan pointed to the Quran in reply to one such question from the floor and said the last thing Prophet Muhammad did before he left his house was to kiss his wife, and the first thing he did when he returned was also to kiss his wife.




"It's perfectly Islamic," he said.




Dr Hassan agreed with the member of the audience that the wives kissing the hands of their spouses was also a sign of their love, but how many did that outside of Hari Raya?




"It is not the issue of kissing that I'm talking about here," he stressed.  "It's the issue of doing it to show affection.  I don't advocate kissing on the mouth, but the meaning behind the gesture of 'casual' kissing on the forehead or on the cheek.




"I'm not just talking about kissing, I'm also talking about touching and stroking your loved ones.  Hold the child when you are speaking to the child."



With regard to this, he said: "Let us be more menifestative, let us be more demonstrative".




He added that shows of affection should be done openly too.



"A child will accept that as part of an everyday happening.  It's no problem and it will project the right values," he said.




Dr Hassan explained that when he started hugging and kissing his wife in front of his mother, she was initially startled and called it an Americans trait he had picked up.




"But I ask, is the right to show our love for one another in this way only the right of Americans?  Surely showing affection is the right of all of us?" he said.



"The issue becomes a problem when you don't show your love to one another."




This was the case especially for men, Dr Hassan said.




"In love, we have not been creative enough, especially the husband.  I'm sorry to say, the biggest complaint I hear from wives is that their husbands do not talk to them."




"Kids tell me also that their father don't talk to them, especially the girls.   So many girls thinks of leaving the house because the environment in the house is too stifling.




Dr Hassan speaks from experience, having been involved in four-day summer camps for children and teenagers since the Akademi keluarga Bahagia Malaysia, a subsidiary of the Sabha-Famdev group, was set up in 1988.




Together with the parenting courses that the institute runs, he has dealt with abut 6,ooo adults and children to date.  Two months ago, he launched a series of audio tapes with tips on family development.




In the same vein, Dr Hassan said seminars on family development should be attended by men as well.



Looking around the hall, the handfull of men present was clustered uncomfortably at first.  It was interesting that after the first of the three papers presented, only one valient gentleman remained in the audience.




Dr Hassan certainly had harsh words for men who enslaved their wives, and who assumed it was their prerogative to ahve their wives serve them, especially in villages.



"How can we talk about morality?" he asked.




Men did not bother to understand how women felt, he said.  He extolled communication between husband and wives, and between parents and their children.



"Be conscious of your partner," he asked.  "When you spek to your partner, look at them, look into their eyes.  Give them the chance to say their piece, then speak.  Answer your spouse in a gentler voice, and answer promptly".




"Say 'thank you' to your spouse for cooking a meal."



Dr Hassan said mealtimes were a good time to impart values to children, whether in table manners or getting them to wash up after themselves.



"Have at least one meal a day together as a family." he urged.



Dr Hassan also berated Malaysian sloth when it came to reading: Only if parents were well-read and informed would they be able to impart knowledge to their children, he said.



Parents should actively and constantly impart knowledge to their children.  He also emphasised the role-emulation tendencies of children, so that if they saw their parents reading, the trait would be passed on to them.




The most important thing to do, though, was to show children that you loved them, he said, so give them that cuddle, kiss them goodnight and sit them on your lap while you watch TV.  Oh, and do that with your spouse, too.



THE FOUR ELEMENTS OF LOVE



Dr HASSAN Haji Mohamed Ali outlined four elements of love that were vital to build a happy family framework:



Empathy :



Sympathy towards not just the needs, but also the feelings of your loved ones.  This would be reflected in the tone of voice with which you answered someone who called you, the promptness of the reply and the amount of attention you gave to someone speaking to you.




Hope:




It is important to say, "I have hope in every member of my family," that "I really enjoy being your wife," and "I really enjoy bringing up the kids."




Respect:




Respect each other as individuals with your own identities and dignity, and treat each person as having separate needs, feelings, and emotions.




Sacrifice:




Family members should understand the importance of giving in, even in a matter that means a great deal to them.

SOMBONG JERUMUSKAN MANUSIA KEPADA KEHINAAN





EGO dan sombong antara penyakit hati yang sukar diubati.  Ia tidak dapat dirawat dengan ubat atau melalui pembedahan.  Sebaliknya, hanya iman yang boleh membentengi diri daripada penyakit hati ini.

Sifat ego dan sombong menyebabkan iblis dan syaitan terus tersesat serta menyesatkan.  Ini disebabkan keengganannya untuk sujud kepada Nabi Adam sebagaimana diperintahkan Allah.  FirmanNya pada ayat 34 surah AlBaqarah bermaksud:

"Dan (ingatlah) ketika kami berfirman kepada malaikat: "Sujudlah kepada Nabi Adam."  Lalu merela sekelian sujud melainkan iblis.  Ia enggan dan takbur dan jadilah ia daripada golongan yang kafir."

Islam melarang umatnya bersifat bangga diri dan merendahkan orang lain, sebaliknya hendaklah bersifat hormat menghormati antara satu sama lain.  Ini kerana semulia manusia di sisi Allah ialah mereka yang paling bertakwa.

Firman -Nya bermaksud:  ".....sesungguhnya semulia-mulia kamu di sisi Allah ialah orang yang lebih takwanya di antara kamu (bukan yg lebih keturunan atau bangsanya).  Sesungguhnya Allah Maha Mengetahui, lagi Maha Mendalam PengetahuanNya (akan keadaan dan amalan kamu) (surah AlHujurat ayat 13).

Sabda Rasulullah SAW bermaksud "Tidak masuk syurga sesiapa yang ada di dalam hatinya sedikit sifat sombong."  Kemudian seseorang berkata "(Wahai Rasulullah) sesungguhnya seseorang itu suka pakaiannya bagus dan kasutnya bagus"  Baginda bersabda:  "Sesungguhnya Allah itu indah dan Dia  menyukai keindahan, (dan    yang dimaksudkan dengan) kesombongan itu adalah menolak kebenaran dan merendah-rendahkan orang lain." Riwayat Muslim.

Sombong adalah sifat tercela dan ia amat dibenci Allah kerana boleh membawa manusia ke neraka, berbanding akhlak mulia adalah jalan ke syurga.   Terlalu banyak keburukan sifat sombong anntaranya  dibenci  serta dimurkai Allah dan Rasul.

Orang sombong tiada perasaan kasih sayang sesama saudara Mukmin sebagaimana dia mencintai diri sendiri.  Dia tidak terlepas daripada suka berdendam.  Percakapannya tidak boleh dipercayai, malah dia bukan pemberi nasihat yang baik.  Sombong boleh berlaku dalam berbagai situasi, misalnya dalam organisasi dan di tempat kerja.  Sifat ini sering menjadi masalah dalam urusan kerja seharian dan jika tidak dibendung, boleh menjadi barah yang merosakkan organisasi.

Ada orang sombong kerana menganggap dirinya lebih tinggi atau mulia daripada orang lain kerana pangkat atau pengalaman kerja sehingga mereka terlalu riak dan merasakan terlalu pandai.

Penyakit ini jika tidak dirawat awal akan menjadi punca kepada masalah hati, fikiran, pertembungan idea yang tidak sihat dan akhirnya memberi kesan kepada kemerosotan prestasi kerja.

Ini kerana masing-masing berasa diri dan kualiti kerjanya sempurna sehingga tidak mahu menerima cadangan dan teguran orang lain.  Sebenarnya tidak guna kita berasa sombong dengan apa yang ada pada kita, kerana semua itu milik Allah.

Kita hanya diberi pinjam menggunakan kurniaan itu dan sampai waktunya kita memulangkan kembali kepadaNya.  Justeru, penyakit hati ini mesti segera dirawat kerana ia bukan saja merosakkan organisasi, malah menjadi penghalang dalam mencapai kesempurnaan iman.

Sifat ini boleh mengubah kehidupan manusia daripada mulia kepada hina, malah kuat menjadi lemah. Tidak kira sama ada dia seorang jutawan, hartawan, berpangkat tinggi, pemimpin, bahkan sesiapa pun, jika menyombong diri akan menyebabkan keruntuhan iman.

Rawatan segera perlu dicari agar penyakit sombong tidak merebak dan antara pendekatan boleh digunakan ialah menginsafi dan memperbaiki diri daripada sifat ini.

Seseorang itu haruslah merenung asal kejadiannya dan destinasi terakhir bakal ditujui.  Dia harus ingat, asalnya daripada setitik air mani yang hina dan selepas menempuh kehidupan di dunia ini akan mati dan dikuburkan lalu menjadi mayat.

Nikmat Nya tidak boleh diukur dengan sesuatu kerana Allah sumber segala kurniaan dan yang memberi segala kebaikan.

Sabda Rasulullah SAW bermaksud "Amal seseorang daripada kamu tidak akan menjadikan dia selamat"  Mereka bertanya "Termasuk engkau wahai Rasulullah SAW?"  "Ya, aku juga.  Namun, Allah memenuhi dengan rahmatNya" (Riwayat AlBukhari).

Apa yang ada pada kita sangatlah kecil dan sedikit tidak layak untuk bermegah dan besar diri, malah kita hendaklah malu kerana sifat takbur itu milik Allah.  Dialah Al-Mutakkabir dan kita perlulah menisbahkan diri dengan segala sifat yang hina -Oleh Wan Jemizan Wan Deraman dan Ahmad Termizi Mohamed Din.
